When Holden’s new Headquarters in Port Melbourne was constructed, it was an opportunity to showcase the life of many a revhead’s most prized possession – the Aussie car.

‘Circle of life’ – the new walls display the life of a Holden car.

The graphic montage has since become a focal point of the space, as colour, type and imagery merge to depict both the creative and technical aspects of automotive production.

“The concept behind the display was to graphically tell the story of the production of a car from 0-100%,” said designer Jai Yianni of Peddle Thorp Melbourne.

The circular pods span 360° over 3 levels and have been treated with 300 square metres of self adhesive vinyl. The material - self adhesive vinyl - was chosen as it best suited the scale of the 50 metre pod graphic and external factors like the high ceiling.

“The new design is carefully integrated to the colour scheme of window blinds, furniture and adjacent partitioning.

The red used is the corporate colour for Holden - the other colours represent a stretch of road framed by a blue skyline. At the end of the display you can see the car drive off into the distance.

Tasteful surroundings’ – careful colour coding highlights the concept.
